McCafferty Legal work in energy transition and commercial law across eleven areas of expertise, from two offices, into Australia and the Asia-Pacific. Beside the firm sits McCafferty Consulting, a separate engineering and project advisory business with its own nine areas of expertise, its own team and its own clients.
Both were built in this project, from a starting point of one five-page Divi site. What went live was 117 pages across two brands: the practice at 33 pages, 12 project pages, 22 market insights and 9 lawyer profiles, and the consultancy at 23 pages, 4 project pages and 8 consultant profiles.
Eleven practice areas is a navigation problem before it is a design problem. A prospective client arrives with one specific issue and no patience, and if they cannot find their issue in a click or two they are gone. The expertise taxonomy and the mega menu that exposes it are the substance of both builds.
The other decision worth naming is the insights library. Twenty-one of the twenty-two market insights appear on both sites, written once and surfaced under each brand. A firm that sells expertise has to look current in two places, and this way that costs one piece of writing rather than two.
Five pages became 117
Two complete sites out of one project. The legal practice runs 33 pages, 22 market insights and 9 lawyer profiles; the consulting arm runs 23 pages, 22 insights and 8 consultant profiles.
