SHE has to do three things at once. Raise money, tell stories carefully, and hold a community together, including a capital project in the Wellness Centre and a partner network that needs visible acknowledgement.

Most charity sites hand the first job to a third-party donation platform. That is quick, and it costs a percentage and the donor relationship along with it. Building the giving on WooCommerce instead meant the recurring FoundHERS program, the care packs and the one-off donations all run through systems the charity controls, with the donor list staying theirs.

The members area runs on the same accounts, so someone who gives and someone who joins are not two separate logins and two separate lists. Around that sits the part that actually does the persuading: stories, news, awareness campaigns and the Wellness Centre project, given the room to be read rather than squeezed in beside a donate button.

// WHAT WE BUILT
01

Recurring giving they own

FoundHERS runs as a recurring annual gift through WooCommerce, so the charity keeps the donor data and the donor relationship rather than renting both from a donation platform.

02

A gated members area

Members log in to content that is not public, handled through the same accounts system as the giving.

03

Room for the story

Stories, news and campaign pages sit alongside the fundraising, because a charity has to move people before it can ask them.
